Today I’m here with a yummy Chicken Drumsticks curry recipe.You can use other parts of chicken too.This is a very simple chicken curry prepared by my mom.It saves frying time and no need of adding water and the out coming gravy tastes super delicious . The coconut masala added to this gives a rich creamy texture.I made this curry last week and everyone enjoyed it.Now to the recipe…
Ingredients
Chicken drumsticks – 6
Onion – 1 chopped and pureed
Tomato – 2 small sized , pureed
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder / Manjalthool – 1/2 tsp
Corriander powder / Kothamalli thool – 1 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder / Milagai Thool – 1 tsp
Salt as needed
For Grinding
Coconut – 3 tbsp grated
Peppercorns /Milagu – 1/2 tsp
Fennel Seeds / Sombu – 1/2 tsp
For Tempering
Oil – 3 tsp
Cinnamon / Pattai – 3 small pieces
Fennel Seeds / Sombu – 1tsp
Cardamom / Elachi – 1
Curry leaves – 2 springs
Preparation
Grab your ingredients.Wash the chicken thoroughly . Grind the coconut , peppercorns and fennelseeds in to a fine paste and keep aside.
Heat oil in the cooker and add the ingredients for tempering and fry for a min.
Add the onion puree,gingergarlic paste and tomato puree.Add the turmeric powder ,chilli powder and corriander powder .
No need to fry the masala just mix well.Now put the cleaned chicken and the needed salt and mix well.No need to add water too.
Close the lid of the pressure cooker and wait for a whistle.Then cook in medium flame for 5 mins and switch off the stove.
Open the lid of the pressure cooker .Now it will be watery after adding the coconut paste the gravy will be perfect.
Transfer the contents to a kadai and add the grounded masala and mix well.Simmer the flame and boil it for 5 mins.
Now the Yummy chicken curry is ready to go with rice / roti.
