This is a crispy snacks made from leftover rice. My granny don’t waste the leftover rice and she makes these wonderful patties out of it.You can use the fresh rice too..it really deserves.Try it … you will love it for sure.
Ingredients
Cooked Rice – 1 cup
Onion – 1/2 chopped finely
Turmeric powder / Manjal thool – 1/4 tsp
Chilli powder / Milagai thool- 1/2 tsp ( if u r spice lover then increase it )
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
Curd – 2 tsp
Gram flour / Kadalai mavu – 3 tbsp
Asafoetida /Perungayathool – 2 pinches
Cilantro / Kothamalli ilai – 2 tsp chopped
Curry leaves - 2 tsp chopped
Salt as needed
Oil – 2 tsp
Preparation
Take all the above ingredients except oil and mix them well.
Heat a tava and spread oil all over it .Take a small ball of the mixture ,press it to make it flat and place it on the tava .Repeat this to rest of the mixture.
When it gets golden colour turn it to the other side and let it fry.Drizzle some oil around it.
Shallow fry them in badges.Serve them with ketchup or cutney of your choice.
Tips:
Smash the rice with your hands nicely before mixing it with other ingredients ,if you feel hard use a mixie and give it a single turn.
